30 May 2009

Went for the 1st day of summer league at Homestead. Sam didn't bowl too well today considering she hasn't been practicing due to her finals this week. She only played once on Friday at lessons with Ty so, was a little rusty. But, considering the lack of practice, she did pretty okay with scores of 185, 173, 193 with an avg of 183. Jennifer McQueen did swell today and helped the team won the 3rd and final game against Matthew's team. We won our match play today, yay!

John, Jennifer's dad also told us the news that Jen is expecting and baby's due Dec 18. We are most happy for her although it's not the most opportune of time. Nevertheless, Jen is a very responsible and mature kid and we will support her in any which way we can. I guess this will be her last summer league with us. It is so sad coz she's such a great team player and we will miss her. But, we wish her well and hope to see her back at the lanes again some time next year after the birth. Good luck Jen, we love you and will miss you.

After bowling, Sam and me went for lunch at Amici's with Sveta/Anna. Then, wanted to go pump gas at Shell at Stevens Creek and saw the price at $2.93 and though it was too expensive. Drove home all the way to White Road only to find to my horror that it costs even more at $2.99. Lesson to be learnt here: Always pump some gas at whatever place 1st and not hope for a cheaper one nearby. Since I was like 11miles away before the gas runs out, I had no choice but to pump $20 worth of gas at $2.99, ouch ouch ouch!

Then, we went to the Evergreen San Jose library for the 1st time, yay! Can you imagine that we wanted to go to the library for the longest time but never found time to do so until now? Anyway, membership sign up was easy as a breeze as it's done online at the library itself. And then we got 2 memberships, one for Sam and one for me. Each time, we can borrow a maximum of 100 books and 10 CDs (movies or songs) and we can have it for 3 weeks and can be renewed up to a max of 12 weeks. Well, for a start, we got ourselves 15 books. So, I guess you can gather what Sam and me will be doing for the rest of this and next week. Now... this is what I call life..... I love summer hols, don't you?
