29 May 2009

Was excited coz I will get to try out my Wilson racquet as I am playing singles with Emily today. Had a pretty good hit with it although there were some mis-hits on the dampener. Am going to change the dampener coz I don't like this one. I won my singles game 6-1. The balls doesn't seem to fly everywhere especially my BH and volleys are pretty crisp. Serves are so-so. Didn't get a good hit on it yet. Overall, I would rate this racquet a 6.5. My Prince racquet is more stable and has a more solid feel compared to the Wilson. But hey, can't have it all.

Left the club at 10.20am, went home to get myself pretty and fetched Sam to Valley Fair as she's meeting her friends there. Then, I went to lunch with Ed. Was supposed to eat at Gulzaar but forgot it's a Friday and since the owner is a mamak, he goes for Friday prayers and the restaurant was closed. So, we went to this little hole in the wall mini Italian cafe at Auzerais Ave which is located at an almost slumpish looking side of town. I was a little wary that Ed would recommend this place coz it doesn't look very safe. But, we went anyway and Ed had ravioli while I had spaghetti with meatballs. Food was disappointing although it's been highly recommended by Yelpers. I would give it a 3.5 rating. Not up to my standard...

After lunch, Ed was nice to volunteer to fetch Sam from Valley Fair while I go shop at Costco and Office Depot to buy a corrugated carton box for Ed to take all those stuff back to Pg. Came home at 3.45pm and was happy that I managed to get all my shopping done in good time.

After that, sent Sam to bowling lessons with Ty and then the 3 of us went to Gochi to celebrate the start of summer hols, the end of finals and no school for the next 3 months, yay and Sam's great results. She still maintained her GPA at 4.4 and she obtained 3 A's and 4 A+'s for her finals. Great great job Sam... We're so proud of you...

We were so stuffed after dinner but Ed insist on taking us to Penguin Froyo for Italian gelato. This shop is located in San Jose downtown and I told Ed I couldn't possibly stomach anymore ice-cream as we ate so much at Gochi. We had Aji Tataki mackerel, 1 order of fried crab in daikon sauce, 2 orders of miso soup, 1 yabo tofu, 1 order of ribeye steak and creme brulee as dessert. That was a lot of food for just the 3 of us. But Ed says this ice-cream shop is highly recommended. So, we went and indeed, he was so right. The frozen yogurt was soooooo good and so was the green tea gelato. Sam had raspberry/pineapple yogurt while Ed had pineapple/pomegranate yogurt and I had green tea gelato. Man, were we stuffed by the time we drive back home at 8.20pm. It was a good end to a great day.... Now, I can sleep well tonight.
