Updates - April 2007
Very recent pictures of Sam. The one with her posing on the chair was taken at the lobby of the Grand Hyatt Singapore when we were down there over the weekend of March 30 till April 1st, 2007 to watch the Phantom of the Opera. Ed and me had a great time at the opera which was held at The Esplanade Theatre, Singapore. Sam chose to stay back in the hotel room and catch up on her internet surfing and chatting online. We watched the matinee show on Sat, 31 March and it was worth every penny spent on the ticket, accommodation and flight as we had a great relaxing weekend as we enjoyed the hotel, went out to eat when the stomach drums, ate lots of gelato (can't find gelato in good 'ol Penang), sleep, watch tv, went shopping and would you believe it that I did not buy anything but books at Borders. I guess that's good right? If given another chance to watch Phantom again, I would.... I simply love it from the songs to the play to the special effects. I'll described it in 1 word, WOW!
The other pic is that of her posing with her gold and silver medal hauls at MSSPP. Recently, she just played very badly at the Piala Remaja held on 14 Apr 2007. Did not even meet her average of 170. Everything just went wrong that day ie. her footwork, her sparing, her pocket balls, her balance. A day when everything just did not work out. She finished playing her 8 games and we did not even bother to stay back to find out what position she's in. At the rate she was playing, I'll be happy if she's not last. A bad day at the office, they call it.
Sam's beach birthday party and sleepover on 6 April was the "best ever" she has had. It was a blast with her schoolmates Samantha Tang, Mae Yoon, Megan, Sharon, Marina and Czen Yi. We started off at 4.30pm at Pg Swimming Club's beach where we had a small picnic consisting of sausages, tomyam beehoon, KFC, McDonald's fries, mandarin oranges and watermelon and 100 Plus, Sprite and F&N Orange to kickstart the day. They went on the kayak and played, talked in the sea (literally). For Ed and me, we were both bored stiff but gotta stick around to ensure they do not go too deep in the sea. Finally, we all left at about 7.30pm with all of them soaking wet but they had fun. After taking their baths at the club, we proceeded home and Ed and me went out to takeaway Domino's Pizza for their dinner where they gobble it down quickly followed by Sam's lemon meringue birthday cake. After filling their stomach, they watched TV and went to bed around 2.30am. I assumed they had the time of their lives gossipping, truth and daring each other and a host of other things which Sam has refused to divulge to us. I guess we shall honour that...
As for me, am now suffering from hives which is caused by allergy. Allergy from what? That I do not know and neither does the doctor who treated me? Said it could be anything ranging from food to air to ground. As if that helps to narrow it down. Had it on Sunday (15 Apr 07) while at church. Was scratching my thighs like a monkey. Endured the itch from church to watching Sam at bowling practice till dinner. By Mon night, can't stand it any longer coz when the calamine lotion that I put on wears off, the itch will come back. Therefore, went to see the doctor and got a jab for it. It helps a little to lessen the itch but it still disrupted my good night's sleep. Have to take oral medication the next few days and hope it will go away soon.
Sam went for her MSSPP tennis tournament Mon and Tue this week (16-17 Apr 07). She got through the singles match on the 1st round beating Shantini Oorthijam 8-7 on tiebreak but lost to a seeded player, Neesa Menon in the 2nd round. In the doubles, they lost 2-8 to PCGHS (Peng Wah) and she had lots to complain about them from kiasuism to bad line calls and overrule from them as and when they think fit. She will be playing the team event this coming Mon, 23 Apr 07. Tennis to her is a recreation sport away from her bowling and she enjoys the camaraderie and is having fun with it so, win or lose, we do not pursue further than the fact that she must enjoy the game.... I guess less pressure compared to her bowling.
And last but not least, that's a very recent picture of me with SHORT HAIR. Like it? Let me know....
That's it for now. Signing off, EdChriSam...
