18 August 2009

Today, had lunch with Kathleen Loke at Ryoma Japanese Restaurant at Tanjung Tokong. We had a good time catching up on lost time and waitresses was more than eager to usher us out of the restaurant as we sat till 2.15pm which was way past their closing time. Once outside our parked cars, both of us were still chit chatting and I didn't leave till almost 2.33pm for my dental appointment at 3pm at Tanjung Dental. Dr Way, the dentist was as usual, very chattery and asked me a ton of questions about how life is like in the US which I was more than happy to share with her. No cavities so, it was just cleaning and polishing which came to RM60.00, very reasonably priced and a good job done. Told her that if I come back next year in June, will take her for durians (coz she told me she loves durians just like I do) in Balik Pulau.

After dental appointment, went to Australia Tailor to check if they have any nice fabric to make shirts for Ed but to my disappointment, they don't have his measurements on record and t4, no point picking fabric. Looks like Ed has to go there himself when he visits Penang on his next biz trip.

Went straight for tennis lessons with Danny at 5pm and it started with a drizzle. Choo Eng joined me around 5.15pm and we learnt about racquet handling today. I had lots of problems with changing grips between groundies and volleys. But, gotta persevere and get used to it. Am sure it will become natural in due course. Then, around 5.40pm, it started to pour pretty heavily but we still continued. Then, it was too heavy and we stopped for a while but when pouring rain became a drizzle, we went back out to play. The one good thing about omnicourts is that, we can play in spite of the rain. Uncle Alan joined us later and he, too, played with us in the rain. We were all drenched from head to toe but still played on. Danny even turned on the court lights at 7pm so that we could continue to play on coz the sky was really dark and the rain doesn't look like it's gonna stop anytime soon. Finally, Alan was tired coz we were practising our approach shot and volleys and he ran out of steam. We finally call it a day, with rain still pouring down our faces and went home on our separate ways at 7.45pm. Goodbye Danny, Choo Eng and Alan and here I bid adieu to my favorite court at Jesselton one more time. With a heavy heart, I dragged my feet to the car and drove home with tears streaming in my eyes knowing that I am going to miss everything all over again.....
