Today is a fun day as I managed to clear my mailbox and finally have no outstanding emails to reply too. Boy, am I efficient. Worked on the PC till about 12.30pm and then started cooking chicken stew with potatoes and fried cai xin with mushrooms. Had lunch and finished watching Desperate Housewives.
Then, the AT&T personnel called me at 2.45pm just as I was about to go out to fetch Sam from school. She asked if my broadband intermittent downtime was still occurring and I told her yes, it is although the downtime is getting shorter compared to previously when it could be down for about 10-15 mins. So, after what the technician did, it has somewhat improved but the problem is still not fixed. She said she will have to schedule an appointment for the technician to come into my house and check if it's a problem from within. If it is, then, I will have to foot a bill of $60 which is their standard charge per hour. I told her what other alternatives do I have and she suggested that I check to ensure that everyone phone jacks in the house has a DSL filter on it coz that could be the source of the problem. So, I decided that I'd better check that first coz as far as I know, not all my phone jacks has a DSL filter on it. She said ya, to check first and buy filters if necessary and then monitor the situation. If the broadband still kaputts, then, we can schedule another appointment. But, if the problem get fixed, then, no more problems, hahaha.
So, out I went to fetch Sam from school. Came home and remembered that I still do have additional DSL filters in the cupboard. Went to look for it and true enough, I had 3 extras. So, I went upstairs to check all the phone jacks and realized that the only one that doesn't have a DSL filter on it is that in Ed's office. Installed it immediately and so far, this evening, no downtime on the broadband. I am now shouting out in Hallelujah!
At 5.13pm, went out for tennis practice with Al's team at FTC. Rudy didn't come by as he's been playing regularly. Plus, I am not worried about him but about myself. Didn't feel very comfortable with the hit on the balls. Somehow don't feel that connection. Hopefully, it'll get better when I go for lessons with Larry. Partnered Rick against Judy/Max and lost 3-6. Partnered Rick against Al/Michelle and also lost 3-6. Well, I had fun and am quite happy with my return of serves. Hope I'll do well this weekend at Districts....Gotta pray, gotta pray....
