We went to the Hillman Memorial Bowling Tournament held at Cloverleaf today. Sam bowled awesomely today and though the team did not win, we had soooooooo much fun. I was the prime cheerleader for the team and screamed my heads off. Ed who was standing next to me nearly went deaf as he had to put his hands over his ears. Couldn't stand the high pitch and the screaming. But, he joined in the fun, smiles and laughter.
This tournament is a great one. The fee is $40 and for all youth bowlers, they get a $50 scholarship award for participation regardless of whether they win or not. But the 1st placed team will win a $1,000 scholarship money. Before this, Sveta has been telling me that we have a strong team and I believed her. Unfortunately, Denise, who is Travis' mom and who's one of the organizer, she hurt her back and couldn't bowl with the team and in her place was George Clavas. There were Anna, Sam, Madison, George and Bobi. Everyone contributed to the team as much as they could but we lost in the end even though Sam bowled her hearts out. She bowled games of 191, 201, 192, 205, 185 and 245 with an average of 205 and total pinfalls of 1228. I think this is her best game ever in any given tournament. I am so proud of her effort. Keep it up Sam.
Then, we came home and Ed cooked dinner. We had bbq-ed chicken wings which was soooooo.... delicious with Ed marinating it in his specially concocted marinade. He also cooked me frog legs and fried kangkung and we ate it all with rice. Yummy..... A perfect end to a perfect weekend. Tomorrow is a holiday and I look forward to sleeping in....
